HRDN-SL was pleased to welcome the Irish Ambassador to Sierra Leone and the Second Secretary for a discussion on our work to promote and protect human rights in Sierra Leone.

We discussed HRDN-SL’s ongoing work to strengthen the protection of human rights defenders, as well as the broader human rights situation in Sierra Leone. We also exchanged views on Ireland’s plans to seek a seat on the UN Human Rights Council and its continued engagement on human rights at the national and international levels.

Ireland has been a longstanding supporter of HRDN-SL and our work, and we greatly value this partnership. We also appreciate Ireland’s continued commitment to advancing human rights in Sierra Leone and around the world.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration in support of human rights and human rights defenders.
